Vico Magistretti

An industrial designer, a furniture designer and architect. Vico Magistretti from Milan, son of an architect was a representative of Milanese rationalism. Working at the firm owned by his father, he began creating low-cost furniture for the inexpensive apartments built to house the homeless during World War II. His designs were simple, portable and practical qualities that appear again and again in his work during the 1950s. Active in the design field, he was among the founders of the Industrial Design Association in 1956, and many of his creations of lamps, chairs, tables etc. have enriched the history of design. He has numerous achievements and legacy under his belt that the world still looks up to years after he was gone. Magistretti was, above all, a designer of great integrity and humanity.

The name Vico Magistretti is only used to describe the characteristics of the goods made to the original design, and not as a trademark.
