George Nelson conceived a wide array of timepieces with his collections of wall clock during 1948-1960s. Many of which have become icons of the 1950s design including the Turbine Clock. Designed in 1957, it is one of the more than 150 clocks designed by George Nelson and Associates. The aim of the design is to bring modern design into American homes while simultaneously embracing the spirit of optimism in the 1950s, and it never disappoint because it has been a classic icon of modern design ever since. |
